Kosova 1999

In March 1999, at the height of Kosova’s crisis, I undertook my first photography assignment, driven by the need to witness and document. With minimal experience and equipment, these images capture the resilience, courage, and humanity of the Kosovan people during one of Europe’s darkest chapters. This gallery stands as a visual testament to their strength and determination.

Kosova Reloading photography book was published as a personal act of processing and healing, and also to serve as a visual testimony.  Their value lies in bearing witness. A copy of the archive was donated to the Institute of War Crimes Committed in Kosovo during the War, and are on permanent display at Reporters House in Prishtina the Museum of Kosovo’s History in the Heart of Prishtina.

Content Warning: This gallery contains material of a sensitive and distressing
