Iraq, 2016

In 2016, I joined filmmaker Claudio von Planta in Iraq to assist with the production and editing of his film on the conflict with ISIS. While my primary focus was on editing the documentary, I could not resist the urge to visit the frontlines to photograph, gaining a firsthand sense of the environment and conditions faced by those involved. I also sought to document daily life on the streets of Erbil, observing how communities adapt and maintain routines amid uncertainty. Even amid conflict, life continues, and people find ways to carry on, celebrate small moments, and make the best of their circumstances.
