Taken in 2025 on Roupell Street, London, this work reflects a street originally built to house working families, now quietly embedded within the city’s cultural and cinematic landscape.
Created on pure cotton handmade paper, the piece is sculpted through multiple layers of archival emulsions and hand-applied textures. Pigment-based inks and finishes are worked directly into the surface, producing a tactile image where material and photograph converge. Each work is unique, with subtle variations that cannot be replicated.
Developed over more than two years, the process allows the work to be displayed without glass. The surface is varnished for both physical durability and UV protection. If preferred, gallery-standard non-reflective glass may be used.
The image presents a softened view of the street: façades, doorways and passing movement reduced to tone and rhythm. Detail dissolves into suggestion, evoking places shaped by labour, routine, and quiet use rather than spectacle.
Framed in a thin 6 mm, 40 mm deep dark brown frame, the framed work measures 93 × 63 cm, with the artwork itself measuring 91 × 61 cm. Each piece is supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and an embossed signature mark confirming its originality.
