Created on pure cotton handmade paper, this work is sculpted through layers of archival emulsions and textures applied by hand, forming a tactile surface where image and material merge. Pigment-based inks and hand-applied finishes make each piece one of a kind and truly exceptional. Limited to just five handcrafted editions, no two are ever identical. Developed over more than two years, this technique allows the work to be displayed without glass, as it is varnished for both physical and UV protection. However, if a glass front is preferred, a gallery-standard non-reflective glass is recommended.
Mental I evokes the quiet solitude of the shoreline, where light, air, and sea drift into one another. The figure at its centre appears both present and distant, suspended within a soft horizon of memory. The surface texture amplifies this stillness — a tactile echo of wind, water, and time.
Framed in deep matte black using Lion moulding, the piece measures 62 × 52 cm, while the handmade work itself is 42 × 32 cm.
