Last Call on bees wax

Created on archival cotton paper, this work combines pigment-based inks with hand-applied finishes, making each piece individually crafted and unique.
The surface is finished with a thin layer of encaustic beeswax. Rather than creating a high-gloss or reflective surface, the wax gives the work a soft satin sheen, subtly deepening the darker tones and adding a quiet sense of depth to the layered image. The finish becomes part of the physical character of the work, allowing the photographic image and material surface to exist together.
Last Call explores a fleeting moment of transition within the city. London appears suspended between movement and stillness, with forms and traces of light dissolving into one another. The image suggests the moment before departure — when a place is still present, but already beginning to recede. Through layered exposure and softened detail, the familiar becomes uncertain, existing somewhere between observation, memory and anticipation.
Framed in deep matte black using Lion moulding, the work measures 62 × 52 cm and is designed to be displayed without glass, allowing the tactile surface and subtle satin finish of the encaustic wax to remain visible.
Each work is supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and an embossed signature mark.
